The CD Microsystems data Collection system works best with Microsoft SQL Server  as the Data Store, but it it available for any OLE or ODBC compatible database such as Oracle or Microsoft Access.

CD Microsystems provides a database with the tables and programs required to get up and running using only the CDM Data Collector management Studio.  It is not required to understand SQL Server to be able to configure the Data Collection System

Management of the system can be done remotely from the server using any PC with access to the server.

The provided database includes a Framework table which provides a convenient way to structure the enterprise according to industry standards ISA-S95 and ISA-88 if desired.
